Absorb. Balance. Dispatch.
Stable grids are a necessity to providing safe, reliable energy. In today’s rapidly changing energy landscape, factors such as the increase in renewable power generation, aging infrastructure, and the extension of power supply to remote areas challenge the ability to balance both real and reactive power.
In this second session of the ERA Forum, we will discuss specific solutions to address balancing the grid reliably and safely by integrating power plant assets with state-of-the-art grid stability solutions. Energy storage solutions which include batteries and thermal storage directly address the intermittency of renewables and the need for real power, or MWs. Rotating Grid Stabilizers aid in balancing reactive power by adjusting the grid’s voltage or improving the power factor.
