“With the successful operation of this important project, we are writing another chapter in our long-term partnership with China to benefit the local society, economy and people. We are proud of working together with CHD and the other partners to accomplish this milestone project with the highest quality and a fast construction time especially during the COVID-19 period,” said Yao Zhenguo, Head of Siemens Energy Hub China. “As an independent company fostering the global energy transition, Siemens Energy is committed to supporting China’s energy transformation by contributing our clean and advanced technologies and solutions.”
Siemens Energy supplied two power generation units for the CCHP project, including two SGT5-8000H heavy-duty gas turbines, two steam turbines and four generators. Commencing construction in March 2019, it took only 18 months from the installation of the first unit to the operation of the second unit.
Wang Xin, Chairman from Huadian Fuxin Guangzhou Energy Co., Ltd., said, "By working closely with Siemens Energy, we built the double H-class gas turbine units project with the largest single unit capacity in China. Thanks to Siemens Energy's rich experience in fleet operation and their world-class professional competence, the combined cycle power generation was achieved within a year and half, at a fast speed of installation to operation for a double H-class project.”
The SGT5-8000H heavy duty gas turbine features high efficiency, short startup time and quick response to load changes. In China, a CCHP unit can meet the average household power demand in cities with a population of approximately three million inhabitants. Up to now, Siemens Energy’s H-class turbines have been on the market for about a decade and have exceeded 1.5 million fired hours of commercial operation. With almost 100 units sold worldwide, the H-class turbine is one of the most efficient, reliable and powerful gas turbines currently in commercial operation.
